Jordan and I had made a couple of folkie sounding tracks that Andy and Chris absolutely despised, so I felt compelled to try and hit the nail on the head.  I just wanted a catchy as hell melody that could carry through an entire song.  So I figured out the riff on the piano and ripped off The Cure's "Close to Me" for the drum beat.  Jordan knew exactly what to do with the guitars and how to modify the melody for the chorus so the song would build up.  When it came to sing the song I was so afraid of butchering it that I had no melodic vocal ideas.  Jordan wrote the first verse and told me how to sing the chorus.  Once I got it, I was a dog in a chocolate store.  I had a ball writing the lyrics.  "Type up your letter tuck in your shirt tails" is about Andy busting his a** to raise money for the first shoot.  Eleanor was the name of Leah High's pet rat.
